setup & usage

⚠ connect your instagram account

your Instagram account is connected through a hosted flow; the tool touches ONLY private messages (DMs) — no feed, no stories, no posts.

  • the subscription key lives on the Unipile account connector (your BYO key, or the platform's with the hosted messaging option granted by an admin);
  • then "Connect my Instagram account" here. no cookie to paste, no extension.
    • ▸ read and reply from your account

    instagram(op=list|read) reads your conversations — one-to-one AND group ones (is_group) —, instagram_act(op=send) sends: two tools, so that allowing reads never allows sending (your client asks you to confirm instagram_act). you act as yourself, under your own account.

  • "read my unread Instagram DMs"
  • "reply to [handle]"
  • "summarize my conversation with [handle]"
    • · message requests are not threads

    DMs of a pro account and those of the "message requests" inbox are not always served together: a missing thread is often a thread awaiting acceptance on the Instagram side.
